ROBERT A. DEFRANK - Staff Writer , Times Leader

ST. CLAIRSVILLE - The Belmont County commissioners held a lengthy executive session Tuesday morning.

As a result, they made several motions, including the decision to approve and sign an extension of the current homemaker and personal care services agreements, on behalf of the Department of Job and Family Services until Feb. 28, 2014, subject to other terms such as a 60-day termination provision as the as-needed limitations on services to be provided with agencies including Helping Hands and Warm Hearts LLC; Interim Health Care of SE Ohio Inc.; Advanced Home Health Inc.; Medical Services of America Inc., dba Medi Home Private Care; and Just Right Homecare Inc.

Commissioners entered an executive session with Mark Lucas, Clemans-Nelson & Associates; Christine Palmer, Belmont County human resources manager; and Lori O'Grady, human resources manager, to discuss collective bargaining. Contract negotiations continue. As a result, commissioners motioned to approve an hourly pay raise of 50 cents for Northern Division Court Deputy Clerk Tammy Kotera and Eastern Division Court Deputy Clerk Susie Colvin, effective the pay period ending March 9.

They also acted on a motion approving appointments to the Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association membership and OMEGA Executive Board for 2013. Membership consists of the commissioners, Auditor Andrew Sutak, Port Authority Director Larry Merry and Department of Development Director Sue Douglass. Commissioner Charles R. Probst Jr. will serve on the executive board, with Commissioner Ginny Favede as alternate.
