Today is the first day of spring, and ignoring the blustery cold weather, 16-year-old Morgan DeLuca takes in a little softball toss with grandpa Larry DeLuca on Amanda's Field in Bellaire. Grandpa Larry, a St. John Central assistant softball coach, says every spring for the past 15 years, one influence exerts a tremendous and relentless pressure on his heartstrings — playing ball with his granddaughter.
