River’s Romick wins first; St. C. blanks Whg. Central

• Harrison Central remains undefeated in three starts

River's Pilots mounted a six-run lead then held off a late rally by host Magnolia for a 6-4 Tuesday afternoon triumph. It was the first career win in two outings for first-year had coach Mark Romick.

Starter Chad Isaly earned the mound decision for River, recording three strikeouts and two walks. He received relief help from Kam Brown and Cody Caldwell the latter of whom earned a save.

Freshman first baseman Craig Hupp hammered a two-run double in the top of the second.

Hupp also finished with a single, double and three RBIs.

Brown belted two singles and knocked in one. Isaly tagged a triple, good for an RBI.

St. Clairsville 7, Wheeling Central 0

AT Wheeling, Andrew Hayes hit a double and brought in three as the debuting Red Devils blanked the Maroon Knights.

Turner Provost also added a double among two hits, while Michael Jacob struck out 10 for St. Clairsville.

Justin Hammers took the loss for Wheeling Central (0-4), which was held to two singles.

Harrison Central 12,

Oak Glen 5

AT Cadiz, Drew Horn finished with three hits and brought three in as the Huskies beat the visiting Golden Bears.

Rashaen Mitchell hit a double, while Ryan Rose and Nick Pelegreen each added two hits apiece for the hosts (3-0).

Toronto 14,

Buckeye Local 4

AT Toronto, the host Red Knights batted around during a six-run second inning en route to a Tuesday tiumph over the Panthers.

Tyler Owens scattered three hits in a route-going performance for the Knights. Owens struck out seven and issued five walks. At the plate, Chez Glenn collected three singles. John Romey contributed a pair of base knocks.

Austin Marshall tripled for Buckeye Local. Jonathan Boroski and Brian Zeroski also rapped out base hits. A pair of Panther hurlers totaled one strikeout and 11 walks.

Buckeye Local was slated to visit Martins Ferry this afternoon.
