HESS, Kermit B., age 85, of Shadyside, OH, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in Shadyside Care Center.
He was born March 20, 1928, in Marion, OH, the son of the late Homer and Ethel Craig Hess.
He was a member of United Presbyterian Church of Key, OH; a U.S. Air Force Veteran; a retired employee of Ohio Edison with 30 years of Service; a life member and past Commander from 2004-2005 of VFW Post 626, Bellaire; a member of Sons of Italy 754, IAC Club, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 371, all of Bellaire, and American Legion, Shadyside.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on May 9, 2008, by his wife, Arlene Jenkins Hess.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth "Kenny" Hess of Shadyside, and Keith (Susie) Hess of Wheeling, WV; three daughters, Brenda Kay (Jim) Higgins of Bellaire, Kelly Jean (Dan) Piatt of Morristown, OH, and Cindy Moore of Neffs, OH; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Geri Ostdickenberg, Maribeth Foster, and Carrie Garay-Quirantes; and a step-son, Charles Adams
Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 400 33rd St., Bellaire, where Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11a.m. with the Belmont County Council of VFW conducting Military Services.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
