CRAWFORD, Edward S., 85, of Bellaire, OH, died Sunday April 14, 2013, at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH.

He was born May 5, 1927, in Bellaire, a son of the late Virgil and Hazel Gilton Crawford.

Ed was a retired Millwright at Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Benwood and Mingo Junction Plants; a member of First United Methodist Church; Bellaire VFW Post 626; Bellaire American Legion Post 52; and proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European theater.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Crawford; his second wife Shirley Plunkett-Shively- Crawford; three sisters; and eight brothers.

Surviving are his children, Lawrence W. (Cathy) Shively Jr., Patricia McCurdy, John (Nancy) Shively, Jeanette (Chris) Moodispaw, all of Bellaire; a sister, Linda (Paul) Waterson of Dover, OH; 13 grand children; and four great- grandsons.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Bauknecht- Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 441-37th Street, Bellaire where services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Sheryl Seitz officiating. Burial follows in Davis Cemetery, Bellaire.

Full military honors will be conducted by Belmont County Council of American Legions at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
