Beallsville rallies past Bridgeport

Beallsville's Blue Devils scored two times in the bottom of the ninth to outlast Bridgeport by a 5-4 count Tuesday evening in Monroe County.

It was the sixth win in 18 starts for skipper Joe Kress' Blue Devils who received a complete game mound outing from ace Logan Nippert. The junior struck out nine Bulldogs and issued but one walk.

After Bridgeport pushed across a single tally in the top of the ninth for a 4-3 lead, Beallsville rallied, scoring both the tying and winning runs via hit by pitches with the bases loaded.

Nippert aided his cause with two singles. John Dietrich singled for a RBI as did Dalton Secrest. Beallsville was slated to visit Buckeye Trail this afternoon.

Bridgeport starter Jonathan Kreiter fanned six and walked five. Colt Charlton and Bradley Pritchett also worked the hill. Bailey McGrath socked a single and double, driving in a Bulldog tally. Cody Reed singled three times. Robert Teeman doubled and knocked in a pair.

Jefferson County Christian 4

At Mingo, Logan Lish recorded the mound decision and contributed a double and a run batted in as the Lions won on the road.

Lish struck out four and walked one before Zac Clark came on in the fifth to finish up.

Lions' catcher Garrett Hart hammered two singles and drove in one. Isaac McIntyre and Marshall Dickinson each added a double and RBI.

Now 2-7, ERC travels to Valley on Friday.

Monroe Central 2, Shenandoah 0

At Woodsfield, Monroe mound ace Kordell Antill blanked the Zeps on one hit. Antill recorded five strikeouts and walked a pair. Shenandoah's Ryan Lovette fired a complete game four-hitter in taking the loss. He walked a pair.

Antill also starred at the plate, pounding a single and double, good for a run batted in. Seth Alleman slugged a sacrifice fly and Jacob Black belted a triple.

The 10-9 Seminoles were scheduled to visit Caldwell this afternoon.

River 19, St. John's 1

At Neffs, invading River posted a five-inning victory over St. John's behind pitchers Cody Caldwell and Jarrett Armann.

At the plate, Eric Dierkes drilled three singles and drove in a pair. Chad Isaly singled twice and collected two RBIs. Craig Hupp singled and accounted for three RBIs. Kam Brown belted two singles. Cole Isaly doubled and plated a pair. Wes Smith doubled and scored a teammate.

The Irish received a single and RBI from Jonathan Bossell. St. John's was slated to welcome Frontier this afternoon.
