The 14th annual Women's Health Week will begin on May 12 and run through the 18. This a week to celebrate and promote women's health and how important it is. National Women's Checkup Day is May 13.

National Checkup Day encourages women to visit their health care professionals and receive their checkups. This is also a day to promote regular checkups since they play a vital role in early detection of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, mental illnesses and sexually transmitted infections. This is the 11th annual National Checkup Day.
Screening test, such as mammograms and Pap tests, can detect diseases really which will be easier to treat. This is an important event during National Women's Health Week. The women can participate is by contacting their health care providers to schedule checkups or screenings, discuss which ones screening and test are needed. Screening and test are also important if their family history has a high levels of cancers and diseases.
