LUCAS, Earl E., 94 of Shadyside, Ohio died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Belmont Community Hospital in Bellaire, Ohio.
He was born December 10, 1918 in Alledonia, Ohio a son of the late Robert E. and May Omey Reed Lucas.
Earl was a retired electrician for the North American Coal Corporation, a member of the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside, Ohio and a 77-year member of the United Mine Workers of America.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Luvada L. Sindeldecker Lucas, who he married on November 28, 1936; three brothers, Howard, Lloyd and Floyd Lucas; and three sisters, Hazel Green, Birdie Mosher and Bessie Moore.
Surviving are his son, Thomas (Margie) Lucas of Powhatan Point, Ohio and his daughter, Sandra (William) Kinney of Shadyside, Ohio. Also five grandchildren, Lynn (Gale) Huffman, Mark (Lori) Lucas, Eric (Tammy) Lucas, Thomas (April) Kinney and Michael (Hollie) Kinney, 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randy Weaver officiating. Interment in the Armstrongs Mills Cemetery in Armstrongs Mills, Ohio.
