SANTA, Mary M., 100, of Barton, Ohio, passed just two days before her 101th birthday, Wednesday May 15, 2013 at Wheeling Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Wheeling, W. Va., on May 17, 1912, a daughter of the late Steve and Elizabeth Lopuch.
Mary was active in the former Barton CWC and St. Joseph Catholic Church CWC; a lifelong member of the Barton Fire Department Auxiliary, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union; member of Our Lady of Angels CWC; and she was an avid baker and pierogie maker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Santa; a daughter, Mary Margaret Kittel; and a sister, Ann Kaiser.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Carol Snyder and her husband, Paul of Colerain, Ohio; a son, Frank Santa and his wife, Phyllis of Dillonvale, Ohio; grandchildren, Melissa Mackey, Paula Santa, and Lynnette (Brian) Faldowski; great-grand children, Kayla Mackey (fiance Paul Graham) and Brad Mackey.
Friends will be received Friday 2-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio where vigil service will be held at 2 p.m. and Barton Fire Department services a 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday May 18, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church Wolfhurst, with Revs. John Mucha and Dale Torres, concelebrants.
Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Blaine, Ohio.
