ST. CLAIRSVILLE - Several sentences were handed down during Friday's session of Belmont County Common Pleas Court. Judge John M. Solovan II presided.
Gregory Barnes, 29, 201 Spring St., Flushing, was sentenced on a count of domestic violence, a felony of the third degree, with the specification of three prior domestic violence convictions. He was given a sentence of 36 months with a possibility of judicial release.
He is facing a pending sentence for breaking and entering and receiving stolen property.
Solovan noted Barnes' past pattern of drug and alcohol abuse and knowing and criminally reckless escalating pattern of behavior.
John Edward Gavarkavich, 37, 71319 Skyview Drive, Martins Ferry, was sentenced on three counts of illegally processing drug documents, a felony of the fourth degree. He was given a sentence of 12 months for each count, to be served concurrently with each other and with a sentence he is presently serving in the Circuit County Court in Ohio County.
Kyle Nicholas Vinka, 23, 843 41st St., Bellaire, saw the revocation of his probation after being terminated from EOCC.
He entered an admission and was sentenced to 26 months, with credit for 12 months served. He was originally convicted of one count burglary, a felony of the third degree.
Charles John Heathcote, 18, 57311 Sheryl Avenue, Bellaire, pleaded guilty of obstruction of a public official in the performance of duties, a felony of the fifth degree occurring Feb. 7. He was given a sentence of six months in the penitentiary and six months EOCC, to be served concurrent with a one-year sentence he is currently serving.
Joseph Mark Antill, 52, 68137 Hammond Road, St. Clairsville, pleaded guilty to assault of a peace officer. He was given a sentence of 12 months in jail, with credit for 12 months already served.
Casey Blenn Warnock, 30, 128 Carroll Drive, St. Clairsville was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to one count of receiving stolen property, a felony of the fourth degree. Status conference was set for July 19, with plea agreement Aug. 2 and trial Aug. 15. He was given a recognizance bond.
His co-defendant Danielle Marie Crooks, 29, 3306 Edgington Lane, Wheeling, was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to one count of receiving stolen property and one count theft, both felonies of the fourth degree. Status conference was set for July 12, with plea agreement July 19 and trial July 25. Bond was set at $5,000.
