IF?MOTHER?Nature cooperates, the Steele and Cook Insurance Ohio Valley Baseball League playoffs will continue today at various sites around the valley.
In games today at 1 p.m., No. 4 seed Barton (14-6) hosts long-time rival Maynard (14-6), which is seeded fifth, at Henning Field in Crescent; sixth-seeded Neffs (11-10) welcomes No. 3 Lafferty (16-5) at the old ballyard along Ohio 149; No. 8 Shadyside travels to Patterson Field in Elm Grove to meet the top-seeded Wheeling Cardinals; and No. 2 Weirton (16-4) welcomes No. 7 West Liberty (9-10) to Edwin J. Bowman Field.
All first-round series of the best-of-3.
Only one game has been played thus far, that being the A's Gang's 1-0 shocker of the Dodgers in Game 1 of their series Thursday night.
Game 3 of that series, if necessary, will be back in Lafferty Monday night, while Game 2 of the other three series will also take place Monday at Firemen's Field in Maynard, Shadyside's Fleming Field and Kovalick Field on the campus of West Liberty University, respectively.
Should the latter three series need a Game 3, those would be played Tuesday night.
