July 6, 2013
By ROBERT A. DEFRANK - Times Leader Staff Writer , Times Leader

MARTINS FERRY The city has received 41 new benches made of recycled material to be assembled and installed around the park and city. Concrete pads are being poured in preparation. The goal is to install the benches by the first of August, in time for Betty Zane Day.

In addition, the city has received five benches and five bicycle racks, all made from recycled plastic. Thanks went to Aarons of Bridgeport, the Step Up Club at the high school, and JB Green Team.

A work day will be scheduled when the benches are ready to be installed. For more information or to volunteer, call (740) 609-3709.
