GODAWAY, Stanley "David," 65, of Neffs, OH, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Wheeling Hospital Medical Park, Wheeling, WV.
He was born December 19, 1947 in Martins Ferry, OH, the son of the late, Stanley and Irene Smolenak Godaway.
He reupholstered furniture; was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Neffs; American Legion Post 77, the Gun & Rod Club, and Wheeling Assoc. of the Deaf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kenneth Wood.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Linda Wood Godaway; a sister, Mary (Rafael) Matos of Neffs; nieces and nephews, Tony Lee Matos and family, Kevin Rafael Matos and family, Kathy Sloan and Family, and Angela Popp and family; his mother- in-law, Jacqueline Wood; a sister-in-law, Karen (Michael) Gruszecki; and three brothers-in-law, Larry, Terry (Deb) and Ron Wood.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 400 33rd. St., Bellaire with Vigil Service at 7:45 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65305 Dixon Hill, Neffs, with Fr. Daniel Heusel as celebrant.
Interment in Belmont Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
