Convicted robber returns to court

August 6, 2013
ROBERT A. DEFRANK - Staff Writer , Times Leader

ST. CLAIRSVILLE Chad R. Rennicker, 26, incarcerated, appeared Monday before Belmont County Common Pleas Court Judge Jennifer L. Sargus. He admitted to a violation of his community controls by failing to report to EOCC.

He was convicted of aggravated robbery, a felony of the first degree occurring May 25, 2012. He was given a suspended sentence of 36 months. He had cooperated with authorities in the case against his brother and co-defendant, who is currently serving six years.

Rennicker now stands accused of another count of bank robbery and six counts of kidnapping in Meigs County. Defense asked Sargus to consider that the matter is currently only an allegation and a plea has not been entered. Sargus decided to continue the matter generally until more evidence is available.

"I do not find it appropriate to sentence someone on a case that's pending," Sargus said.

Rennicker will be held in Belmont County.
