BARTON, Elmer Edward, 84, of Church Street, Rayland, Ohio died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at his home.
He was born February 20, 1929 in Bellaire, Ohio son of the late Buck and Myrtle Adams Barton.
He was retired from the former Picoma Industries in Martins Ferry, a Korean War era army veteran, a member of the Rayland Methodist Church, Yorkville V.F.W., and an avid fisherman, hunter, and golfer.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Harris Barton (2006) and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Joanne, Dolfi Barton; a son, Brent Barton, of Yorkville; a daughter, Barbara Bellville, of Yorkville; a sister, Jesse Mayhugh, of Deep Run, Ohio; three grandchildren, Amber Bellville, Colt and Corey Barton; and one great-granddaughter, Alayna Bellville.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Elmer, and celebrate his life, Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, Ohio.
Also Sunday from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Tom Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Full military services will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of the V.F.W. Sunday at 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
