FILLIPOVICH, Dorothy Veronica

FILLIPOVICH, Dorothy Veronica, 81, died peacefully Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Autumn Health Care in Adena, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born at home in Parlet, Ohio, December 19, 1931, a daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Mader) Stanko.

She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, of the Rosary Society and CWC. She served as housekeeper at the rectory for Father Baudo and Msgr. Kolesar, and at the peoples National Bank in Adena for 10 Years.

She was a beloved mom, mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. Her kind heart and compassionate nature endeared her to everyone.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul (Shorty) Fillipovich, on March 11, 1982; a step-son, Paul Fillipovich and two sisters; Mary DaRe and Anna Evanosky.

Surviving are six children, Libby (John) Wasko of Reynoldsburg, Joe (Nancy) Fillipovich of Martins Ferry, Chuck (Cheri) Fillipovich of Adena, Rich (Kathy) Fillipovich of St. Clairsville, Diana Fillipovich of St. Clairsville, Paul (Susan) Fillipovich of Adena; step-daughter, Joyce (Tom) Zucco; a step-son, Tom (Darlene) Fillipovich both of Massachusetts; two sisters, Margaret Ohler of Carrollton and Betty (Bob) McKee of Canton; 13 grandchildren; John (Jill) Wasko, Jason (Jenn) Fillipovich, Jeremy (Kathy) Wasko, Holly Fillipovich, Richie (Julie) Fillipovich, R .J. (Lisa) Fillipovich, Joey (Kari) Fillipovich, Kelly (Mike) Malpezzi, Corey (fiancee Andrea) Fillipovich, Jessica (Paul) Reisenburg, Jennifer Wasko, Shayna Fillipovich, and Kayla Fillipovich; and 17 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jackie, James, Michael, Matthew, Cheyenne, Aaliyah, Coye, Grace, Anthony, Maria, Quintin, Raegen, Gabriella, Addison, Austin, Gabriel.

She made every grandchild feel like her favorite. We will all miss her dearly, but she will live on in our hearts forever.

Friends will be received to pay tribute to Dorothy and to celebrate her life on Friday at Borkoski Funeral Home in Adena, September 13, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil service at 3:30 p.m..

The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Adena. Father Dale Tornes will officiate. Burial will be in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
