Linsly soccer teams fall short in OVAC Cup

October 1, 2013
Times Leader

Linsly's boys and girls soccer teams both fell short in their quests to bring the OVAC Cup back to their campus Monday evening.

The Lady Cadets dropped a 2-0 decision to Brooke in the opener at Wheeling Island Stadium, while the Linsly boys dropped a 3-1 decision to Morgantown in the nightcap.

The Lady Cadets had no answer for Michaela Hinerman, who scored both of the Lady Bruin goals.

Morgantown's boys recorded what proved to be the game-winning goal at the 13:36 mark of the second half by Killian Stappen. Zach Kilwein recorded the final tally of the game.

Addison Luck, who is the son of West Virginia University Athletic Director Oliver Luck, got the Mohigans on the board.

Linsly's lone goal came from Ify Chima at the 10:29 mark of the first half.
