October 10, 2013
Times Leader

HANOVER STREET, Martins Ferry, in the early 1900's. The German Bank was removed and relocated due to the conflict of World War I. The name was changed to The Citizens Bank and was located on Fourth Street, now located where Central School use to be, across from The Times Leader building. The building titled "Metropolitan" housed several hotels at different times. This building is now owned by Grace Presbyterian Church on the corner, and is still very active.
