SNYDER, Robert W. E., 88, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV.
He was born July 30, 1925 in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Robert L. and Margaret L. (Clemens) Snyder.
He was a former Supervisor of Industrial Relations of the Upper Ohio Valley Plants for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel with 28 years service and a retired Vice-President of Labor Relations for the Louis Berkman Company for 12 years. Robert was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry.
As a Staff Sargent in the 8th Army Air Corps during WWII he flew 35 bombing missions as a tail-gunner in a B-17 bomber in the European Theater.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Marylou (Gow) Snyder, daughter, Terrell B. Snyder, son-in-law, Steve Haynes, grandson, Campbell Robert Haynes all of Batavia, OH and a brother, Howard I. Snyder.
Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Saturday, October 12, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating.
Military honors will be presented Saturday at 11:15 a.m. in the funeral home by the VFW Belmont County Honor Guard.
