ST. CLAIRSVILLE- The Ohio Valley's only acute pediatric walk-in clinic is now open. Kids Only Care is located at 135 East Main Street, beneath Dr. Mark Wilson's existing pediatric office.
An opening ceremony was held Tuesday at noon and the clinic is ready to help cut down on the hassle of going to the doctor.
The walk-in clinic is run by Lana Ofat, nurse practitioner, and overseen by board-certified physician Dr. Wilson.

Ofat says that patients at the clinic will be able to be seen fairly quickly, but it is not meant for urgent care.
However, parents whose children have conditions such as rashes, strep throat, ear infections and so on are encouraged to bring them to the clinic. Ofat says the clinic will operate on a first-come, first-served basis and a patient will be seen every fifteen minutes.
Kids Only Care is associated with Ohio Valley Medical Center/East Ohio Regional Hospital.
After a visit, the clinic will be able to send reports by fax to the child's pediatrician or primary care physician to make sure they are aware of any and all medical problems or development.
Wilson said, "we can see patients from any practice" and that insurance qualms will not be an issue as they accept all providers.
Wilson also said, "we're not going to do this to recruit patients. I just think it's a good service to have".
Kids Only Care will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though the latest patients will be accepted is 3:30.
Ofat says if the clinic does well, hours will likely be expanded.
