WILLIAMS, William E. Sr., 79, of St. Clairsville, OH, died Thursday, October 17, 2013, at UMPC Mercy Hospital.
He was born June 19, 1934 in Bannock, OH, son of the late Will E. Williams and Pauline Davis Williams.
He was a former coal miner, a Belmont County Sheriff's Deputy, an Investigator for the Prosecutor and a Child Support Investigator. He held a degree in Electronics, Television and Radio and worked as a technician for WWVA Radio; he was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge 53 OF&AM; and a member of the Young Democrats.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Williams; and sisters, Nellie Mae Jones and Blanche Wilson.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Ann Hopkins Williams; his children, Karen (Wes) Gilliam, Pamela (Larry) Blanchard, William Williams, Cynthia Williams, Warren Williams and Carmen (Billy) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Carisa Cole, Brandon Williams, Jordan Williams and William Zimmerman III; numerous great grandchildren; a great aunt, Gertrude (Carl) Thomas; sisters-in- law, Gertrude (James) Christian and Edna Mae Wesco; a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m., with Pastor Lee Powell officiating. Masonic Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home. Private interment in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
