ST.?CLAIRSVILLE -- Belmont County Commissioner Ginny Favede has announced that she has decided not to enter the race for the 95th State Representative seat.

Favede, a two term county commissioner, had reportedly been seeing recruitment efforts by some in the party, who wanted her to challenge two-term Marietta Republican State Representative Andy Thompson for the 95th District Seat. Favede gave the possibility a great deal of thought, but has decided against it.

Favede, a Democrat from St. Clairsville currently serves in her second term as a Belmont County Commissioner.

"After careful consideration and deep deliberation, I have decided not to enter into the race for state representative because I believe I can best serve my constituents here locally in Belmont County."

"I will continue my efforts to see local government funds returned to our townships, schools and municipalities, fight for ability for Belmont County to see a financial gain from the oil and gas industry and work diligently to improve the quality of life for all Belmont County residents."
