LARA, David K., 57, of Salesville, OH, died Sunday, November 24, 2013, at his home.
He was born September 24, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia, son of the late Charles G. Speedy and Nancy L. Bell Speedy.
David was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Byesville, Ohio, where he accepted Jesus Christ, as his personal Saviour.
He proudly served his country as a United States Marine, during the Vietnam Era. He was a life member of the Barnesville DAV Chapter 121 and the Barnesville VFW. An avid outdoorsman, David loved to hunt and fish.
David is survived by his special friend, Teresa Jeffers; sisters, Ramona Lara of Glendale, Arizona, Bonnie Braden of Cambridge, Ohio, Pilar Heida Lara of Barnesville, Ohio, Enadina Holskey of Coshocton, Ohio, and Carolyn Speedy of Hannibal, Ohio; brothers, Mario Lara of San Diego, California, Charles Timothy (Linda) Lara of Piedmont, Ohio, William D. Lara of Salesville, Ohio, and Daniel L. (Dora) Speedy of Cambridge, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews, and his trusty companion, Peedy.
Family and friends may visit, Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, beginning at 1 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Pastor Steve Leathley officiating and Pastor Lewis Braden officiating.
Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio.
