GATTEN, Dorothy Marlene, 75, of Belmont, Ohio died Friday, November 29, 2013 at Barnesville Health Care Center in Barnesville,
She was born May 26, 1938 in New Athens, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lawrence Blake and Esther L. Wade Blake.
Dorothy was a former employee of Sullivan's Store in Belmont, Moore's Market in Morristown, a former hostess at the Holiday Inn in St. Clairsville, and a homemaker.
She was a member of the Bend Fork Christian Church, and a poll worker for the Belmont County Board of Elections.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight sisters, June Dawson, Jean Balaint, Darlene Blake, Carolyn Kanzig, Barbara McKeen, Linda Stubbs, Melba McCombs, and Janet VanFossen; two brothers, Clarence Blake, and James "Tip" Blake.
Surviving are her husband, Donald D. Gatten; a son, Duane Lee (Chris) Gatten of Morristown; a daughter, Donna Linn (Dan) Krulock of Bethesda; a sister, Georgia West of Lamira; a brother, Russell Dale (Linda) Blake of Belmont; three grandchildren, Justin Krulock, Katie Krulock, and Adam Saffell; a great-grandson, Dylan Saffell.
At Dorothy's request family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Belmont Cemetery with Brother Ed Fellabaum officiating.
