FRY, Elizabeth "Betsy", 88, of Hannibal, Ohio, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at OVMC, Wheeling, W.Va.
She was born November 9, 1925 in Hannibal, the daughter of the late Oscar and Mabel Defanbaugh Tisher.
Betsy was a retired secretary in the engineering department at Ormet. She was an active member of the Hannibal United Methodist Church, the U.M. Women, and served as Secretary of the Board of Trustees for the church. She loved her family foremost, the OSU Buckeyes, gardening, baking and travelling. Betsy was also an avid reader and loved politics.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, George "Martin" Fry; a brother, Oscar Tisher; and two sisters, Katherine Hercules and Wilma Wells.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, George M. Fry, Jr.; a daughter, Brenda Sue (Brian) Binegar of Sardis, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Josephine Fry of Delaware, Ohio; a brother, Walter (Marlene) Tisher of Piqua, Ohio; a grandson, James B. Feeney, Jr. of Sardis; two granddaughters, Alicia Holt of Delaware, Ohio and Beth Fry of Westport, Conn.; three great- grandsons, Joseph Feeney and William Feeney, both of New Martinsville and Carson Holt of Delaware, Ohio; a great granddaughter, Addison Holt of Delaware, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 125 Clarinda Drive, Clarington, OH with Rev. LeeAnn Dunlap and Rev. Richard Wilson officiating.
Interment to follow in Emma Grove Cemetery, Hannibal.
