WHEELING - Lori Nowakowski, BSHCA, CMPE, clinical director, Ohio Valley Medical Group, a division of Ohio Valley Medical Center and East Ohio Regional Hospital, has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) from the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE).

ACMPE is the standard-setting and certification division of MGMA-ACMPE.

The designation of CMPE demonstrates that Nowakowski has achieved board certification in medical practice management. ACMPE certifies an individual's professional competence when s/he passes rigorous essay and objective examinations that assess knowledge of the broad scope of medical practice management skills sets as outlined in the Body of Knowledge for Medical Practice Management.

The individual must also earn a minimum of 50 continuing education credit hours. Nowakowski stated ""I have a passion for Health Care Administration and attaining the CMPE designation further defines me as a professional."

Today, 6,600 MGMA-ACMPE members are participating in ACMPE board certification and Fellowship; 600 have achieved the Fellow credential, 2,200 have achieved the CMPE credential and 3,800 are pursuing board certification.

"We are very proud of Lori for achieving this milestone. Her dedication and commitment are commendable. We are glad she is a part of our team," stated Michael J. Caruso, President and CEO of OVHS&E.
