Buckeye teachers OK pact

January 20, 2014
By KIM LOCCISANO - Staff Writer , Times Leader

DILLONVALE - Teachers employed in the Buckeye Local School District have given their tentative approval to a proposed labor contract with the district, prompting school officials to schedule a special meeting of the Buckeye Local School District Board of Education for 8 a.m. Wednesday at the district's administrative offices in Dillonvale to address the teachers vote.

The special meeting will afford the board members an opportunity to vote to accept or reject a tentative contract with the district's teachers union.

If the board turns down the pending action , any new negotiations would likely involve new board members in the process.

It is possible the board would vote to reject the tentative contract, as two of its members were only seated less than 2 weeks ago and had no real hand in the process of negotiating the contract.
