WHEELING - Help is on the way for animals of the Ohio Valley.
On Friday, March 14, a St. Patrick's Day Oldies Dinner Dance at Generations in Wheeling will benefit the Ohio Valley SPCA and Back Street Cat Rescue. Doors open at 5 p.m., and dinner begins at 6.
DJ Johnny O of KOOL 105 FM will play all your favorite oldies and more from 7 to 11 p.m. A cash bar will also be available.

"There will be a 50/50, a Chinese raffle, a silent auction and tip boards," said Stacy Cunningham of the Ohio Valley SPCA. Ashley Blinco of Back Street Cat Rescue added that there will be "tons and tons of really nice prizes."
In addition, anyone who brings in an item for a dog or cat, his or her name will be entered into a drawing for a special door prize. Items on the Ohio Valley SPCA wish list include medium sized harnesses, small washable dog beds, Frontline (0-25 lbs), small glass or metal dog bowls, and paper towels, Windex and stamps. In addition, items like liquid laundry detergent, bleach, towels, blankets and pet toys are always needed.
Reservations are required for the dance, and tickets should be purchased in advance by Wednesday, March 12. Tickets are $15 per person and are available at Generations or by calling 304-242-9635.
