DAWG GONE It Bait & Tackle, 321 Main St., Bridgeport, will be holding its grand opening on Saturday, March 29 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be several giveaways and raffles.
Business was so good during that first year, that DGI had to move into a larger building to accommodate the growth in business.
"We have been received by the Ohio Valley really well," Massey added. "We wanted to wait and have our grand opening after our first year because there are a lot of places that have their grand opening one day, and the next week or so they're closed up already.
"We've got a steady clientele and we want to keep it that way," he continued. "We actually outgrew our first location."
There will be several giveaways during the grand opening, including bait for an entire month to one lucky individual, t-shirts and gift certificates.
While DGI still offers live bait such as shiners, minnows and night crawlers, it has expanded its line of tackle.
"We've had people come from as far away as Akron," he added. "We get people from Cambridge and we had a few guys in from Pennsylvania in the other day. We're centrally located and minutes away from the water (Ohio River)."
The live bait, according to Massey, comes from Akron.
"There have been times that we've sold out and had to drive to Akron ourselves to get more," he noted. "The company up there only makes one trip a week, but it's worth it to us. We want to keep our customers happy."
Starting March 29, DGI will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
