John currently resided with a son in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
He was born February, 1 1922 in Barton, Ohio, a son of the late Andrew Soltis, Sr. and Anna Malestz Soltis.
John was a retired employee of Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Martins Ferry Plant, a Catholic, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and a life member of VFW Post #5356 in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Bikoski Soltis; brothers, Andy, Joseph, and Steve; sisters, Elizabeth Sabo and Sophia Fugo.
John is survived by three sons, John Soltis, Jr. of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Alan Soltis and Gina of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Michael Soltis of Martins Ferry, Ohio; a daughter, Linda Johnson of Ann Arbor, Michigan; granddaughter, Sherry (Justin) Jansen of Ypsilanti Township, Michigan; great- grandson, Cruz; brothers, Frank of St. Clairsville, Ohio, William of Belmont, Ohio and George of Canton, Ohio.
Private viewing will be held for the family at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. where a private family service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Father Thomas Chillog officiating.
Burial follows in St. Anthony Cemetery, Blaine, Ohio.
