WINTERSVILLE - Homestanding Indian Creek took control of the Buckeye 8 Thursday afternoon here with a 7-1 pounding of Martins Ferry.
The Redskins' Paige Geanangel whiffed 11 Purple Riders and walked none, while limiting them to three singles.
Morgan Stalder had a run-scoring single for Martins Ferry in the third inning.
Genangel also singled twice and doubled to drive in a run. Bethany Orr had three singles and a double. Alexis Monroe added a two-run double.
Martins Ferry hosts Buckeye Local today.

At Somerton, the Lady Tigers (7-7) reached the .500 mark as Megan Heagney struck out 10 and allowed three harmless singles in a shutout of the host Shamrocks (4-8).
Freshman Karly Klug singled thrice to pace Shadyside's 11-hit attack. Classmate Katie Heath drove in a run with a single and triple. Shelby Benedetta singled twice and doubled to plate a run, while Lindsay Dunn and Heagney had run-producing base hits.
The Tigers travel to Woodsfield today to meet Monroe Central, while Barnesville plays a 4 p.m. twinbill against Linsly Saturday at the J.B. Chambers I-470 Complex in the Elm grove section of Wheeling.

At Morristown, the visiting Wildcats pushed a run across in the top of the first inning and made it stand Thursday afternoon at Jets Field.
Ali Delaney cracked two singles for Union Local (7-10). She also struck out three and scattered four hits.
The Jets trek to Sarahsville Saturday for a 10 a.m. doubleheader with Shenandoah.

At Wheeling, Miranda Bowers followed up her no-hitter against Bishop Donahue earlier this season with a three-hitter against the Bishops at the J.B. Chambers I-470 Youth Sports Complex.
Bowers aided her cause with a double, single and an RBI. Caitlyn Kroll added a double and three RBI, while Julie Nowakowski had two singles and an RBI.
