MARTINS FERRY - On Saturday, April 26, Cloud 9 Salon and Spa held a grand opening and open house to celebrate the new location at 901 South Zane Highway.
"It went really well," said owner Bridgette McLeod. "We probably had about 200 people that attended."
Cloud 9's ribbon cutting was attended by Mayor Paul Riethimmer and Ron Ferguson, a candidate for state representative.

McLeod explained the reason for Cloud 9's move from the previous location at 654 South Zane Highway.
"We needed to increase in size," she said. "We were just busting out of that little building."
The business is now in a 3200 square foot building, about two and a half times more square footage than their previous building offered.
Before, Cloud 9 was primarily a hair salon, but the new space allows for expanded services. There are two new manicure stations, as well as two luxury pedicure chairs with a massage option. On the spa side of the business, there are five treatment rooms. Clients can treat themselves to a variety of massages, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone and essential oils.
Cloud 9 also offers spray tanning, facials (detox, signature and line smoothing), and waxing. All the salon services are being offered in addition to the extensive hair styling services, including cuts, colors, shines, highlighting, ink stamp, Keratriplex treatment, Fusion extensions, perms, relaxing and more. There are six levels of sytlist to choose from, with pricing set to reflect demand.
Cloud 9 is a Paul Mitchell focus salon, meaning all products used and sold are Paul Mitchell brand.
McLeod says the business's new location has been working well.
"We're lucky to be so busy," she said.
At the open house, Cloud 9 sold three boxes of gift certificates in just three hours. They plan to continue holding the event every year to celebrate the anniversary.
"It's a way to give back to our clients," McLeod said.
