The Fort Henry Piecemakers quilt guild, a member of the National Quilting Association ("NQA"), will meet Thursday, May 8, at 7 p.m., at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 141 Kruger St., Wheeling. Social hour and light refreshments begin at 6. This meeting will be in honor of the quilt guild's mothers' memory. Members are asked to wear or bring their favorite apron. Member Priscella Layne will do a presentation on aprons.

Day Quilters will meet on Friday, May 16, at the home of Shelly Guthoerl in Valley Grove. Call Shelly for directions. Day Quilting is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants work on their own projects, and are asked to bring a covered dish to share.
Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt Co. will present a trunk show on May 14 from 7-9 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Clairsville. A limited number of tickets will be available for sale at the Past to Present Quilt shop in St. Clairsville. Tickets must be purchased prior to arrival; no tickets will be sold at the door. Jenny Doan will also present a second trunk show at Gloria Horn's Sewing Studio, at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church (across from the Galleria Mall) in Mt. Lebanon, Pa., on May 12 and 13. Patricia Knoechel will present her trunk show, with a lecture and demonstration of the pineapple and wedding ring quilt, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Monday, May 19 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The show is being sponsored by the Fort Henry Piecemakers quilt guild. Knoechel is the sister of Eleanor Burns, the author of Quilt in A Day.
The NQA is having its 45th Annual Quilt Show from Friday, May 23 through Sunday, May 25 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, Hall C, Columbus. This year's show theme is "Going Green." Guild Member Sandi Blackwell will be teaching "X's and O's" the morning of Friday, May 23, and "Just Charming" that evening. The Bob Evans Farms 2014 Quilt Show will be held June 21 - July 31 in the historic Bob Evans Farm Event Barn, in Rio Grande, Ohio.
