The Cumberland Trail Fire District had very bad news at the end of last year when then Chief Ken Safffel died. Now, it has some extremely good news! Lieutenant Lance Rice will soon be appointed the new Fire Chief. He will be the successor to my two good friends the District's first Chief, Greg Reline and, of course, his successor, the deceased, Ken Saffell.
I've been an attorney for the District since around its beginning. Lance Rice has been on-board for many years with the District.
He's at times been Union Representative for the men. He is a man of honor and hard work. He and the other lads are in the field daily doing heroic work to protect the people of the District in Belmont County.
While he is very dedicated and strict in his approach, he is courteous and is well respected and liked on both sides of the aisle. He certainly was my choice for the job.
Good Luck, Lance, I'm sure you are going to do well for a long time!
