Robert R. Goff, Sr., 87, of Mt. Pleasant Pike, Martins Ferry, OH, died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Acuity Specialty Hospital, Bellaire, OH.
He was born Jan. 16, 1927 in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Robert L. and Weltha (Russell) Goff.
He was retired from the Yorkville Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Former owner of Bob and Bev's Tavern and also was a farmer his whole life and was known for his sweet corn. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Goff.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Beverly (Gasber) Goff, children; Debbie (Tim) Krantz of Colerain, OH, Gayle (Peter) Jantzen of Chicago, IL, Robert (Nancy) Goff, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant Pike, Velma Beaver of Martins Ferry, Connie (Dave) DeVault of Charlotte, NC and Jennifer (Phillip) Kaczor of Martins Ferry, sister, Isabel Ennis, of Wheeling, WV, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Barry Hall officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
Military honors will be presented by the Belmont County V.F.W. Honor Guard at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral.
