Aircraft B-29 "Enola Gay" 1942

July 2, 2014
Times Leader

PICTURED IS the Aircraft B-29 "Enola Gay" that was backing up to be loaded up with the device to carry over Japan in 1942. Col. Paul Tibbets was the pilot of this plane that was named after Tibbet's mother, Enola Gay. Today it would take about 100 times the number of people and tons of paperwork to accomplish the same job.
