CADIZ - The Harrison County Junior Fair poultry show was the first to be held on the first day of the 167th annual fair, Tuesday, with Kaci Carter taking the pen of two market broilers grand champion honors.
She is a member of Tri-County Showstoppers 4-H Club and the Harrison Central FFA.
Carter also was named the outstanding market exhibitor, senior category, as well as the senior division of showmanship and show of showman winner.
Callie Eberhart, a New Rumley 4-H Club member, Harrison Central FFA and 2014 junior fair queen had the reserve champion market pen of two broilers.
Bailey Eberhart, a New Rumley 4-H and Harrison FFA member, was outstanding market exhibitor, intermediate; and Adrianna Blazeski, Shamrock 4-H and junior fair princess, was the outstanding market exhibitor, junior.
McKenna Mizer of the Royal Riders was the showmanship intermediate winner; and Cael Jones, Tri-Showstoppers and junior fair prince, received showmanship junior division honors.

The gift basket silent auction will begin at 5 p.m. today. It will close at 9 p.m. Friday, and the highest bidder will pay for the basket.
An Animal Fun Show will be held today, Friday and Saturday with a petting zoo, camel rides and pig races.
The scarecrow voting contest ends at 7 p.m. today. There are three top prizes, $20 for first; $10, second; and $5, third.
The mud bog begins at 7 p.m. as well.
A junior fair horse versatility and fun show will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, along with the junior fair cat show. The dog show begins at 9:30 a.m. The junior fair livestock sale begins at 4 p.m.
There will be the table setting contest setup at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with judging at 11 a.m. Removal of the table setting is at 8:30 p.m.
Library Day at the Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the commercial building.
Stiltwalker, Richard Haines, will be appearing as Uncle Sam and in cowboy and farmer costumes throughout the day.
