ST. CLAIRSVILLE - Volare' Salon and Spa is the newest full-service salon in the Ohio Valley mall area, located at 68395 Stewart Drive (in the plaza next to Citizen's Bank).
Volare' is owned by Erin and Scott Neitzelt, both of whom are busy individuals. Scott works as a superintendent in a coal mine, while Erin works as a fifth-grade math teacher and owns a real estate land management company, Residential Rental Properties, and the bar and tavern Scooter's Place.
Erin Neitzelt says she was drawn to business ownership by her background in management. She previously worked as a school administrator for nearly 20 years and holds a doctorate degree in Educational Administration.

Volare’ Salon features three manicure stations and two pedicure stations (background), shown here. The Volare’ team includes cosmetologists Marina Parrish-Fox, Jessie Daulton, Jessica Palmer, Samantha Ankrom and Jaclyn Sable.
"I knew that I have strength in those areas and that I could probably do well with another business venture," said Neitzelt.
Neitzelt had multiple reasons for wanting to open a salon. For one thing, she thought the location near the Ohio Valley mall was prime.
"The opportunity was there because the current salon went out of business, and the landlord was looking for a partner to open another beauty salon. We thought the location would be beneficial because of mall traffic and the new plaza being built across from Whiteside Chevrolet," she said.
Additionally, Neitzelt had learned through her husband that coal miners can have difficulty arranging haircuts, as Sundays are often their only days off, and salons are usually not open then. The same is true for pipeline workers. Volare' is open every day of the week, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Lastly, Neitzelt thought owning a salon might be fun.
"I'm a girly girl," she said. "It's something that I feel comfortable and familiar with."
Volare' has been open since May 1. Neitzelt is still seeking stylists and nail technicians, as business has been booming and more employees are needed to keep up. To request an interview, call or text Neitzelt at 740-827-7067, or mail a resume and copy of current Ohio cosmetology license to: Volare' Salon and Spa, Business Office, 118 Martha Drive, St. Clairsville, OH 43950. Full-time and part-time positions are available, and a cosmetology license is required.
Hair services include the usual cuts, colors and highlights, in addition to wigs, Capella Keratin treatments and FNL Locks extensions. Volare' is the only Ohio Valley salon to sell REF products, which are sulfate-free. Volare' also offers manicures and pedicures, with shellac gel nails, acrylics, nail art and airbrushing on hand. The new line of Morgan Taylor polishes is available.
Customers can make use of three tanning beds, one of which is a stand-up high-intensity bed, or get a spray tan. Additionally, Volare' offers massages (deep tissue, Swedish, pre-natal) and facials.
Volare' has completely remodeled and is unaffiliated with the previous salon, Abbronzare Spa. The new interior look was designed by Kelly's Suite II, of St. Clairsville.
