BELLAIRE The Bellaire Board of Education held its regular meeting here Tuesday, conducting regular business and approving some employment of personnel.
Hired as student services personnel were Wendy Ware, student services director, Brenda Rinkes, elementary counseling grant project director and Darla Orlando, student services secretary. Mary Ann Hall, Kathy Brehm, Stacy Verhovec and Julie Wicham were hired as prevention specialist for student services.
Brooke Peters was hired as an elementary school teacher and Rebecca Zwack was hired as the high school Spanish teacher.
During the student achievement, Board member Jason Ayers reported that preliminary results of the Ohio Academic Achievement test show the middle school had met all 10 of the indicators.
The board did discuss briefly policy changes to rates for use of facilities. Board member Tom Rataiczak asked if it would be appropriate to require the hiring of police for the use of facilities.
No action was taken on any the policy changes but will study the recommendations.

- Adjusted studies department head Mark Spigarelli
The next regular board of education meeting is schedule for August 11 at 6 p.m. in the school district central office.
