CAMBRIDGE Car enthusiasts will come in droves to visit downtown Cambridge, Ohio, Saturday, August 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and enjoy the 28th annual Cambridge Classic Cruise-In.
More than 200 classic cars, trucks and hot rods will be on display along Cambridge's main street (Wheeling Avenue) also known as the Historic National Road/ US Route 40. The road has the distinction of being a part of the nation's first highway.
"The show has been named by Cruisin' Times Magazine as one of the top 13 car shows in Ohio," Cambridge/Guernsey County VCB Executive Director Debbie Robinson says. "This is a must-see event. We welcome more than 1,000 visitors to downtown. It's a great feel-good event that harkens back to what Main Street America used to be 50-60 years ago. People love it."
Car enthusiasts will come in droves to visit downtown Cambridge Saturday, Aug. 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and enjoy the 28th annual Cambridge Classic Cruise-In.
More than100 awards will be distributed, including the best of show, best truck, memorial trophy, largest club, oldest vehicle, and oldest driver. Trophies will also be awarded to each of the 20 classes, which include pre-40s antique and street rod, original and modified 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s, two wheel drive trucks, motorcycles, corvette class, special interest, sports compact, four wheel drive trucks, 4x4 Jeeps, Mustangs, and more.
Visitors may also enjoy merchant specials, a 50/50 drawing with door prizes, souvenir dash plaques, and event T-shirts while supplies last.
The show is open to all vehicles and registration is $10. Registration will take place from 10 a.m. 12 noon with judging beginning at noon. Awards and trophies will be presented at 5 p.m.
The cruise-in is sponsored by Cambridge Classic Ford and Cambridge Main Street.
