MARTINS?FERRY - The final event in the Holy Grounds Cafe summer series is set for this Thursday, Aug. 21, from 7 9:30 p.m.
Holy Grounds will feature five musical acts each performing a 25 minute set. These musicians have all played at Holy Grounds Cafe throughout the year; some have been invited guests, some have played at open mic, all are guaranteed to add a lot of fun to a summer evening.
David and Lisa Buckingham run Holy Grounds Cafe as an outreach ministry of Grace Church in Martins Ferry. They are very pleased to offer these events throughout the summer.
Young Stevie Lynn is a fan-favorite at Holy Grounds Cafe. She will be one of Thursday’s performers.
Said Lisa Buckingham, "This was our first summer series and it's been a lot of fun. We're looking forward to wrapping things up with another great group of performers."
This month's musical acts include The Mayhugh & the Forlorn River Band, Stevie Lynn, Jane Schockey, and a truly marvelous duo who dub themselves "The Chicken Wing Sisters." Wayne Hill will keep the crowd in stitches with his unique blend of comedic patter and old-time sing-along-songs. It promises to be a thoroughly enjoyable event.
At Holy Grounds, hot and cold drinks and a variety of snacks are available for a minimal donation. As part of the House Blend Summer Series, there also be grilled hot dogs and homemade desserts. There is also a pool table and free WiFi. It's a great environment for relaxing with friends.
