Anita Rice has new term on college board

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belmont College is pleased to announce the reappointment of Anita G. Rice to serve on the college board of trustees.

She was reappointed by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and her new term is already underway. Rice was installed during the Nov. 21 board of trustees meeting, with attorney Cory DelGuzzo, of Northwest Law, administering the oath of office. She will continue to serve on the board as a representative of Belmont County.

Rice, from St. Clairsville, has served on the Belmont College Board of Trustees since 2018. She currently is an owner/operator for Ohio River Collieries Co. and corporate secretary as well as for Leonardo Technologies, in human resources. Rice is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor of arts in library science and English. She also attended West Liberty University, where she received an education certification. Rice has been active on several area boards and organizations including, Tri-County Help Center, St. Mary Central School and Seeing Hand, Wheeling.

Belmont College is governed by a board composed of nine trustee members. Three of the trustees are governor-appointed and six are elected by a caucus of the presidents (or their designates) of the school boards within the college’s district. Appointees are qualified electors residing in the college’s district.
