KRUGER STREET Toy and Train Museum will host its third annual egg hunt by flashlight. Find eggs that the Easter Bunny left all over the museum. There will be treat bags for children. Bring your own flashlight or borrow one. This is a non-scary event — the lights will be dimmed, not off — from 6-8 p.m. April 12.

WEBARK ESTATES Animal Rescue will host a spring bingo and vendor event at noon April 5 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church on W.Va. 88 in Sherrard, Wheeling. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. Tickets will be sold at the door, and concessions will be available. Proceeds from the event will be used for Webark’s programs and services for Ohio Valley cats and dogs, including the spay/neuter clinic and free vaccines for area pets.

BELMONT COUNTY Historical Society invites you to attend the second annual Kentucky Derby Tea at the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum in Barnesville at 11:30 a.m. May 3. In addition to tea and a light lunch, guests will experience Derby-themed activities, including a Best Derby Hat Contest and a style show featuring the museum’s vintage hat collection. BRIDGEPORT MASONIC Blue Lodge 181 is having its annual fish fry every Friday through Lent, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Canadian white fish, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, french fries and onion rings will be served at the lodge at 502 S. Lincoln St., Bridgeport.

MARTINS FERRY Knights of Columbus will hold a Lenten fish fry at the council home, 25 N. Fourth St. each Friday of Lent. Hours will be from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. or until the fish is sold out. THE FOLLOWING classes coming up over the next few months at the Cockayne Farmstead:

Beginner Knitting — learn to knit from the very beginning and make a simple project. Ages 10-adult; 5-6 p.m. Tuesdays April 1-22.

Beginner Crochet — learn the basics of crochet and make your first project. Ages 10-adult; 4-5 p.m. Tuesdays April 1-22.

Knit A Sweater — Suitable for those who already know how to cast on, knit and purl. Students will purchase their own yarn. 5-6 p.m. Thursdays April 3-May 15.

Learn to Hand Sew — Learn the first steps in hand sewing and make a pincushion. Ages 7-adult. All materials provided. 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays May 6-27.

BARNESVILLE SCHOOLS will again be giving back to the community through another community cleanup activity on May 5 with a rain date of May 12. Students from the elementary, middle and high schools will participate by assisting local businesses with various house cleaning tasks that can be completed within the constraints of a typical school day. Some requests may fall outside the scope of students’ capabilities, so there might be certain tasks they cannot fulfill.

OHIO VALLEY Trail Partners will again partner with Ogden Newspapers by including a Heritage Trail Ride as part of the Wellness Weekend in late May. OVTP is a group of local bicycling enthusiasts who strive to improve and enhance Heritage Trail. The annual Memorial Day bicycle event serves as a fundraiser to help support OVTP efforts. THE BARNESVILLE Pumpkin Festival Committee is selling seeds from its King Pumpkin winners from 2022, 2023 and 2024. Seeds from the 2022 King Pumpkin are available for $50 each through Dec. 31. For the 2023 champion, seeds cost $20 each or $50 for three. Seeds from the 2024 King Pumpkin are $30 apiece or $100 for a set of four. THE OHIO Valley Promenaders hold line dancing lessons at 6 p.m. and square dances and lessons at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the Bellaire Public Library community room. The group is open to all ages. While many of the Promenaders are seasoned pros, they are always accepting new members. Newcomers can jump in quickly, as square dancing is based on walking to eight counts and the caller leads dancers on what to do in a “learn as you go” fashion.
