Uncle Sam Santa brings cheer

“Santa Mike,” Vietnam veteran Mike Slenski of Pleasant Grove, stops in St. Clairsville along with the “Run for the Wall” veteran bikers on their trek across the country to pay their respects to fallen members of the military. He wore the same style of “Uncle Sam Santa” outfit worn Dec. 6, 1862, when President Abraham Lincoln asked Santa Claus to visit troops in Fredericksburg, Maryland, to boost morale following losses to the Confederate army.
