NAACP Freedom Fund dinner is set for Saturday
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Belmont County NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner is set for 5 p.m. Saturday at Undo’s West, 51130 National Road, St. Clairsville.
Dinner and speakers are scheduled at 6 p.m.
The speaker will be Edmund Sargus, retired judge of the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio.
Lifetime achievement awards will be presented to retired Belmont County common pleas judge John Solovan, who stepped down in 2014 after 38 years on the bench and continues to offer services as a visiting judge; the late James M. Agnew Jr., a community leader who pastored the Apostolic Faith Church in Midland, Pennsylvania, and Shiloh Temple in Bridgeport, Ohio, working with the youth department of Shiloh, the Valley District, and the Ohio District Council; May L. Wykle, former dean and emerita professor of nursing at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University; and area attorney Edward Sustersic.
