ST. CLAIRSVILLE — St. Clairsville High School recently expanded its college and career preparation opportunities for students through a first-of-its-kind College and Career Day event.

Employees from local businesses were invited to share their career pathways, the skills needed for success in their industry, and their journey in their careers.

Additionally, representatives from more than 10 colleges and universities presented options and programs for students to consider once they graduate.

Assistant Superintendent Christina Laudermilt said the district is fortunate to have the support of the community in making its first College and Career Day a success.

“Students have more options than ever before to pursue success after graduation through additional training at the career or college level,” she said. “Our students can begin those pathways in high school through college credit programs or career technical programs. It’s important for our students to see and experience all there is to support them in pursuing their dreams.”

Presenters came with hands-on materials and activities and PowerPoint presentations to explain a day in their life and their journey to students in attendance.

“We are beyond grateful for their time and efforts,” added Laudermilt.

The district hopes to make College and Career Day an annual event and thanks the following partners:
