Change marks 47th season for Ohio Valley Farmers Market
BELLAIRE — As the Ohio Valley Farmers’ Market prepares for the 2025 season, change is underway.
The Saturday market, formerly located in the Municipal Parking lot in downtown Bellaire, will relocate to the Bellaire Health Center at 3000 Guernsey St just south of the current location.
After losing their lease, the Market reached out to WVU Medicine to inquire about using the grounds at the Health Center. Michelle Fabry, Manager of Ambulatory Services, WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital stated “We are so happy to be able to help our friends and neighbors with the OV Farmers Market. Our Bellaire Health Clinic parking lot will make a great space for their vendors to set up on Saturdays and helps support the mission of shopping from local, small businesses. As a lifelong Bellaire resident, I’m particularly excited for us to be able to help in this capacity.”
Janell Loh, OVFM Board member added, “We are thrilled to be partnering with WVU Medicine for the 2025 market season and look forward to expanding the market at our new location. Customers will be able to access our wonderful fresh produce and great vendor products, all while enjoying a spectacular view of the historic (Great Stone) Viaduct.”
The market will open on May 31 and run through October. Saturday market hours remain 9 a.m. to noon.
The OVFM will hold its annual vendor’s meeting on Monday, April 7, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Ohio Valley Mall. Applications are currently being accepted and can be obtained on the Market’s website, ovfarmersmarket.org, or by calling Susan West at 740-676-8187.
The Market features local farm products, home-produced foods, and artisan crafts. Produce vendors are needed and are encouraged to join OVFM, a well-established market in its 47th season.
