Mead Township cleanup event deemed a success
SHADYSIDE — The JB Green Team ‘s 2025 Community Cleanup event kicked off earlier this month with a productive beginning at the Mead Township site.
The JB Green Team would like to thank township Trustees Ed Good, Clyde Hammond and Matt Merryman and their workers John LeMont, C.J. Timko, Wesley Tipton and special volunteer Dalton LeMont. Driver Shawn Albaugh and Environmental Educator Dorene Unterzuber from the JB Green Team worked at the cleanup on March 15 as well.
The Ohio Valley Waste Systems provided four 30-ton roll offs for trash and one roll off for metal, and a driver, Mark Coss, removed the roll offs once full so the event moved quickly.
A and A Tire and Recycling provided a trailer for the tire collection.
The event serviced 122 vehicles and collected 680 tires.
“We want to thank the residents who attended the event,” said Mark McVey, Belmont County coordinator. “We were able to collect hard-to-dispose items from citizens of Belmont County. Their efforts help us keep the county cleaner and put these items properly in the landfill.”
The next cleanup is the Pultney Township/Bellaire event on Saturday, March 29, at the Bellaire Village Garage, 417 E. 37th St., Bellaire.
