At 4:22 a.m. Wednesday, a 911 hangup call was received from the Hampton Inn on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville. Deputies made contact with a front desk employee, who said the call came from room 415. The employee said he already spoke with the guest, who advised he accidentally called while trying to fix his alarm. He left before deputies arrived.

At 7:24 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to Fox Run Hospital on Traco Drive in St. Clairsville for a report of juvenile patients out of control and attacking staff members. Juveniles were detained, and two females were transported to the Sargus Juvenile Detention Center.

At 7:21 p.m. Tuesday, a child from Boyd Avenue in Bridgeport called and reported that a male at the residence was threatening him and hitting his mother. An officer made contact with the female and confirmed that a temporary protection order had been filed. The male fled before deputies arrived.

At 6:39 p.m. Tuesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Trumbull Street and Highland Avenue in Bellaire issued a warning to a motorist for a turn signal violation.

At 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from Sunrise Acres Drive in Barnesville reported that a client was tearing up the place and destroying cars of staff members. Deputies responded, and information was taken for a report.

At 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy assisted authorities from West Virginia on a traffic stop in Interstate 70 westbound near exit 2B. A K-9 gave a positive indication on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The driver stated that he went out with several people in possession of cocaine, according to the report.

At 3:34 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to an address on Kinsman Road in St. Clairsville on a request for a welfare check on a male who had been at Doctor’s Urgent Care earlier and was having a heart attack. He refused emergency medical service and said he would go home and then take himself to the hospital. The complainant said they called the emergency room, and he was not there. The deputy checked the residence and located his vehicle there. The back door was unsecured, but the deputy did not make contact with him.

At 9:09 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from Greenbank Avenue in Lansing reported that an individual came to his residence the previous day and forced a female to return to the homeless camp in Wheeling. The caller said he violated a temporary protection order and wished to speak with an officer. A deputy responded. The Wheeling Police Department was contacted. The caller was to inform Wheeling police about what was allegedly stolen at the homeless camp, the report indicated.

At 6:28 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported there was a suspicious vehicle parked across from her house on Barylak Road in Flushing. Deputies responded. The female called back stating she forgot it was “water war season” and had a teen who lives up the road related to this, the report stated.

Tuesday, March 25

12:17 a.m. – A traffic stop was made on a male for a vehicle defect. The driver was identified and given a warning for the defect.

1:48 a.m. – Officers were called to assist with Martins Ferry EMS on Colerain Pike.

1:56 a.m. – Officers spoke to a male about concerns he has about his rental property and that his tenant hasn’t paid rent and was possibly making drugs. It was advised the rent is a civil situation and that extra patrols will be carried out in this area for activity.

9:49 a.m. – Officers spoke to a female about her child being bullied in school. She was referred to the school resource officer.

10:17 a.m. – Officers were called to Pearl Street by a female who is having relationship troubles, and her ex-boyfriend was sitting across the street from where she is staying. Officers spoke to the male and were advised of the issues. The male stated he just wanted to speak with her. He was advised she did not want to speak with him at this time. The male said he will not bother her and then left. Officers cleared.

11:32 a.m. – Officers were called to Martins Ferry High School to assist with an incident. Officers cleared.

2:22 p.m. – A male came to station to retrieve his vehicle from impound. The male was advised he needed to have the proper registration to get his vehicle out. The male then showed where he had gotten a valid registration. His vehicle was released to him.

4:31 p.m. – Officers were called to the area of Hanover and Fifth streets about a male saying his wife was struck by his mother-in-law. Neither party wanted to pursue charges, and they all were advised to stay away from each other.

6:07 p.m. – Officers assisted a Bridgeport unit on a traffic stop on Ohio 7.

6:40 p.m. – Officers were called to the 800 block of North Sixth Street about a basement door open. The owner stated she was there at 2 pm and the door was closed. Officers cleared the house. The owner stated nothing was missing or damaged. Officers cleared.

7:42 p.m. – Officers were called to Jefferson Street about a juvenile running away and possibly on a bike. The bike was located, and the juvenile went home. Officers spoke to the mother, who stated the juvenile needed to calm down. Mother did not want to file charges at this time but was advised to call if she needed anything.

8:13 p.m. – A female came on station to report a “hit skip” while she was parked in a parking lot on North Zane Highway. She stated that the vehicle had sideswiped the vehicle and had a registration on who she thinks it was. Officers attempted to contact this person. All information was obtained, and a followup will be done.

10:54 p.m. – Officers responded to Third Street about a call from a female stating her ex-girlfriend had left her house heading toward Wheeling and made threats of harming herself. Contact was made with this female, who told officers she had no intention of hurting herself and that she was not under the influence. She was advised if she needed anything to call or visit the station.
