BRIDGEPORT — More than 60 vendors and crafters will show off their items at this year’s Bridgeport Parks and Recreation craft show.
The event features free admission for the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 5 at the J.B. Martin Recreation Center at 102 Fair St. in St. Clairsville.
Vendors and crafters will showcase their items, including some selling Tupperware, essential oils, 3-D printed items, handmade items, flower arrangements and herbs.
Lunch will be available for a price, including pepperoni rolls, sloppy joes, hot dogs, chicken and noodles, desserts, beverages and candy.
Along with the vendors and crafters, there will be an auction, side raffles and a 50/50 drawing.
The auction will have baskets that are full of beverages, gift cards for BellStores, restaurants and pizza shops, and Easter-themed items. The side raffles will also have baskets full of Easter-themed items, such as Easter candy and bunnies.
Not only will people be able to buy from vendors and crafters, eat and win prizes, they will also be able to get free pictures with the Easter Bunny from 11 a.m. to noon and from 1-2 p.m.

All of the proceeds from the event will go to benefit Bridgeport Parks & Recreation.
A council member put on the first craft and vendor event but handed the reins over to park board President Tim Smith after donating all of the money generated to the park board.
Smith said he might as well keep the event running and added that it went well last year.
He noted he thought it would be a good idea to keep it going but move it to St. Clairsville because of the Blaine Hill Bridge being closed, which can make it difficult to access parts of the village. The event was first held at Bridgeport Exempted Village School District.
The park board is trying to build a new playground in the village, which is the effort the proceeds will go toward, but the board also takes care of all the parks in the village and will use the money for whatever it needs to do.
Smith said last year’s event went well, but the park board is trying to make it more exciting this year.
“It will be a great time to support local vendors, Bridgeport Parks and Recreation and an excellent way to celebrate the Easter season,” Smith said.
